Hannu Uusitalo, MD, PhD

Prof. Hannu Uusitalo received his M.D. as well as Ph.D. from the University of Helsinki and made his ophthalmological training at the University of Tampere. Prof. Uusitalo was the President of the Finnish Glaucoma Society 2007-2017, the President of the Local Organizing Committee of World Glaucoma Congress held in Helsinki 2017.

He is the Board Member of European Ophthalmological Society SOE, Board Member of Acta Ophthalmologica, President of the Finnish Association of Eye Research, the Member of Science Committee of the University of Tampere, the former President of the Finnish Ophthalmological Society and the Medical Association of Tampere. Prof. Uusitalo is the author of more than 350 publications including 237 peer-reviewed original scientific articles and the Editor of Handbook of Ophthalmology 2018.
