Forest Park, IL – March 18, 2021. Experimentica Ltd., a leading contract research organization (CRO) in preclinical ophthalmic drug discovery services, today announced that it has completed the relocation of its U.S. laboratories to Fort Worth, Texas.

In a strategic move to meet the needs of emerging biotech companies and expand industry-academia collaboration, Experimentica entered into a facility agreement with The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, Texas (HSC). The expanded laboratory space will support the company’s anticipated future growth in North America and globally, and provide greater capacity for in vivo studies and the development of new ocular models.

HSC’s growing research portfolio, commitment to drug discovery, and state-of-the-art laboratories make the University an ideal partner for a global CRO. HSC also is home to the North Texas Eye Research Institute (NTERI), an international leader in new discoveries through basic and clinical eye research.

Giedrius Kalesnykas, Ph.D., President and CEO of Experimentica Ltd., remarked, “Our new R&D facility will enable Experimentica to grow to the next level, as we look to further develop our pipeline of ocular models available in the U.S. The Dallas-Fort Worth region is home to many innovative biotech and pharmaceutical companies, as well as world-renowned academic teams in the field of Ophthalmology, including North Texas Eye Research Institute. As the demand for preclinical outsourcing services is increasing due to Covid-19, this move will help improve Experimentica’s position as the preclinical CRO of choice in Ophthalmology in North America and globally.”

“We are truly excited to partner with HSC and the Department of Laboratory Animal Medicine who have a proven track record in vivarium operations and animal welfare. Our expanded preclinical services in HSC’s AAALAC-accredited vivarium will address the emerging need for pharmacokinetic and pharmacological efficacy studies in ocular drug discovery”, Simon Kaja, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer and Vice-President, Americas commented.

Brian Gladue, Ph.D., HSC Vice President for Research and Innovation, said “We welcome Experimentica Ltd. to HSC and are excited to partner with a company committed to advancing ophthalmic drug discovery around the world.”
